Project Description
Routine Check-Ups
The best way to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy is regular visits to the dentist. It is recommended to see your dentist every 6 months for a regular check up to make sure everything is as it should be and any problems can be spotted early. Visiting the dentist every 6 months will make sure your teeth and gums are sound, and helps you prevent the need for complex dental work.
In a routine exam, Dr. Minkov will use the latest diagnostic techniques and powerful technology to check your teeth, gums and soft tissues in the mouth. Digital X-rays allows Dr. Minkov to take high resolution images of the teeth to make sure they are sound and healthy, all while maintaining a low rad dose. In addition to looking at the teeth, the health of the gums are checked, and oral cancer is screened for. Attending regular appointments is a great way to be proactive in maintaining your oral health. The benefits are numerous. Not only can you avoid the need for more complex treatment, saving both your time and money, but a healthier smile has been shown in numerous studies to improve confidence, quality of life and overall health.
Dental Hygiene
Routine check-ups are essential to maintaining healthy teeth. Attending your 6-monthly recall appointment is useful because any problems can be identified early before they progress to something more serious.
Each regular exam appointment consists of a check-up, to make sure everything is in order, a scaling and a polish. Regular cleanings are essential for making sure any treatment you receive will work in the long run. Keeping the teeth and gums clean are the best way to prevent the need for future complex treatment, saving you time, money and most importantly pain!
Professional scaling and polish removes tartar that rests just below the gum level which causes irritation and inflammation to the gums, making them look red or bleed easily. This is also known as gingivitis. Removing the cause of the gum inflammation helps to restore the gums to their natural healthy state, improving the look and feel of your gums, improving your breath, and
Although regular cleanings with the dentist are the best way to actively treat gingivitis and maintain the health of your gums and teeth, it is still up to yourself to do the maintenance at home. It is recommended that you brush twice per day and floss once per day as well. Home care and maintenance is actually the most important factor in the success of treatment you receive (from fillings to crowns or implants), and has a preventative roll as well, reducing the need for future complex treatment.
